Coldwell Banker Exclusive Realty & Management in Anderson has partnered with Movement Mortgage to make the home buying process easier by offering in-house mortgage lending services.
“When we bought the brokerage, we wanted it to be a one-stop shop,” said Trent Smith, co-owner of Coldwell Banker Exclusive. “You can pull into our parking lot and get pre-approved for a mortgage, find your home, find property management services and an appraisal business in house.”
Mike Milligan, Loan Officer with Movement Mortgage, will maintain an office at Coldwell Banker Exclusive Realty & Management, 1008 North Main Street in Anderson, and will be available during business hours, 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Smith said.
“This is a strategic partnership that just makes sense,” said Matt Tolley, Market Leader at Movement Mortgage, LLC. “Realtor centric is who Movement Mortgage is. Eighty percent of our business is driven toward purchase.”
Founded in 2008, Movement Mortgage has been serving the Upstate for 12 years. The company ranked above-average in customer satisfaction for mortgage origination, according to J.D. Power’s 2021 report.
“What we have that is unique to Movement Mortgage is an ‘upfront underwrite,’” Tolley said. “What that means is that when a file goes into our operations department, an underwriter picks that up first. We cut the buying process down really by two or three weeks compared to a traditional mortgage.”
While the Federal Reserve has discussed increasing interest rates in 2022, Tolley expects rates to climb just a bit.
“When I got into this industry, we were almost in double digits, so for me, even if you’re at four percent, you’ve got a great interest rate,” Tolley said. “And being in the Upstate of South Carolina, we are in a great housing market here.”
